Did you feel their togetherness and nosiness put you in danger?
by LongHairGal ini know it is an odd question and maybe i am not phrasing it right but i felt with their cult of confession (not just to the elders) but with everybody knowing each other's business it could be a danger.
for example: let's say you were a person who kept a lot of money hidden in your house and you made the mistake of telling one of these wonderful friends - what guarantee did you have that they wouldn't blab it to the wrong person and you could get robbed or something?
i always felt with them that i shouldn't let the right hand know what the left was doing.

To explain my earlier thought. If they find out you enjoy travel, but are no longer able to, but really miss it, they will make sure you hear all about their trips. If you have been shut in for awhile, they will make sure you know all about upcomming gatherings. (why can't they just say parties?) Oh yeah, and they will drive home the point you are not invited. If you like to shop, (and I did not) they will pass around you are materialistic. If you do not like to paint,(and I didn't) they will bring their faux painter friends to sniff, point and laugh.
All this was way too Virginia Woolfe at the time. Thank goodness I can look back, smile and feel sorry for them. But not too sorry. -

About the only contacts I had on a personal level was with the large extended family, all Uber Dubs. It took me a number of years to figgure out that anything I said to them was being used against me. Things I had discussed with my sisters in law about likes and dislikes, hopes, past good and bad times were all passed around among the 'friends', with obvious reference to such being made in very inapropriate settings. Yes, by my truthfulness and trustfulness I put my own mental health in danger.

When I am about to urinate, I will flush the toilet before I start, this requires a second flush when I finish.
I do that too, stealth. I just don't want to have someone else's pee splash on my ass.
I am a book sniffer, too. My favorites are old books, or books from friends. Sick, huh?
Make a loud EEERRRRT sound when I park my car. Hold over from the childhood kiddy-car.
If I accidently scratch a chalk board, I have to rub my hand over it, to somehow remove the anoyance.
Man, what a goober I am!!

Community Service and the JW's
by startingover ina florists went to a barbershop for a haircut and went to pay the barber when he was done.
the barber thought that was very nice.
later that afternoon a cop came in for a haircut when he was finished he went to pay the barber but again the barber said he couldn't accept payment since he was doing community service.

And all of it is justified with the scripture about 'look not toward your own interest', and 'keep not account of an injury'. Of course, it is very easy to spew this crap if you are on the griftor, sickening for the serial griftee.
Oh yeah, the crap about being an imperfect human is called into play if they get caught red-handed in a big way. Cheap ba$tid$.

Oh, Brooke, they are dolls! How old are they? I have twin 4 year olds. Will you be bringing them to the WI apostafest? I'll bring mine if you bring yours.

an elder cautioning me from eating weetabix breakfast cereal
Does that mean JW's where not allowed to eat Cadburys chocolate or Rowntrees sweets because the families that owned these were Quakers.
And 50%off holiday candy is OK, if it is purchased and consumed the day after the holiday? Like a day makes a difference and will sanitize those Santas and Bunnies and Witches, Oh My!
